The Portuguese-Brazilian soprano Anna Beatriz kicks off the 2024/2025 season with a revival of My Fair Lady, reprising her acclaimed portrayal of Eliza Doolittle.
In the 2023/2024 season, she portrayed Eliza in My Fair Lady at Aalto-Musiktheater Essen in Germany and also brought to life the role of Heidi in the world premiere of Fabian Müller’s Heidi feiert Weihnachten at Theater und Orchester Biel-Solothurn (TOBS), Switzerland.
A former member of the Operastudio Bern/Biel and a Master’s graduate in Specialized Music Performance Opera from the Hochschule der Künste Bern, in Switzerland, Anna continues to captivate audiences not only with her versatility and vibrant stage presence but also with a solid stage experience, despite her young age.
In 2022, Anna won the Trentino Music Festival Young Artists Competition in Italy, where she reprised the role of Queen of the Night and made her debut as Virtù in L'incoronazione di Poppea. In 2021, she advanced to the second round of the prestigious international singing competition Neue Stimmen in Berlin. She also debuted the roles of Queen of the Night in Die Zauberflöte and Adele in Die Fledermaus at the Berlin Opera Academy.
During the 2019 and 2020 seasons in São Paulo, Brazil, Anna performed over a hundred concerts as a soloist with the Bachiana Philharmonic Orchestra under the artistic direction of the world-renowned pianist and conductor João Carlos Martins.
In 2018, she debuted the role of Feu in L’Enfant et les Sortilèges at the Santa Catarina Music Festival in Brazil. In 2017, she sang the role of Catalina in the world premiere of the Zarzuela Tres Sombreros de Copa by Ricardo Llorca at Teatro Sérgio Cardoso, São Paulo.
Anna’s first foray into the opera world came at the age of 18 when she joined the Opera Studio at Theatro São Pedro in São Paulo. There, she debuted in several operas, including Albert Herring (Emmie), Monsieur Choufleuri (Ernestine), Le Nozze di Figaro (Barbarina), Die Zauberflöte (Papagena), and La Cenerentola (Clorinda). In the same year, the production of Albert Herring was invited to the Campos de Jordão Winter Festival.
